40th Anniversary Song

For Howard and Ingrid's 40th Wedding Anniversary, Karina and Lisa wrote a song for us all to sing. They think it's to the tune of the Krølle-Bølle song from Denmark...

"Back in 1969 it was a very special time…

Ingrid and a’Howard were in love and they got married,
Soon it wasn’t long before a’Kent that Ingrid carried.
This was in San Francisco,
But they didn’t know how to disco, well…

The mountains and seas were no hurdle for these two,
And 40 years later their love’s still strong!

Mom she came from Denmark and Dad from U.S.A.
In England they did find romance but there they did not stay.
They travelled all around the world,
In Denmark they did have a girl.

Lisa was a cutie but her brother was suspicious,
He’d pinch her on the bottom when his Mom was doing dishes! J
She’d cry and cry and cry some more,
Then Dad came walking through the door.

In Alaska they did finally land the pipeline was Howard’s calling,
The beauty of the wilderness and snow that’s always falling.
They camped and climbed and fished and skied,
While Kent and Lisa grew like weeds.

The house was getting quiet as the kids were growing older,
But suddenly another one was burping on their shoulder.
Karina was a joy to see,
Now in their family five would be.
