Golden Bay

Yesterday I got a cd player installed in my car, so Matt and I decided to test it out today by taking a bit of a road trip to Golden Bay (about 2 hours from Nelson). Was magic, I haven't been over there since I was a kid. Went to Pupu Springs ("clearest water in the world"), Wharariki Beach (beautiful, but so windy!) and many a look out on the way. Good times!

Back home in Nelson

Now I'm back home in Nelson! And it's brilliant! I flew home last night after doing a couple of tests at uni yesterday and stay here for nearly two weeks! Then next Thursday Mum and I are driving my car back to Auckland, stopping off in New Plymouth to visit my Aunt and Uncle and family for a few days. But enough of wishing my time here away...

Dad's Poem

Andy's Little Poem

When Andy was a little bub,
He'd sleep and eat of course
He ate so much we changed his name,
And now we call him Horse!

When Andy was a little lad
T'was full of fun and glee,
He'd often play outside with Dad
And hide behind a tree.

When Andy was a growing boy
Soccer was his game,
He went in goal one sunny day
And there he found his fame.

He'd boot the ball out to the field
His teammates for to score,
And do his best to keep the other team
From scoring any more.

He went off overseas one year
He travelled to Denmark,
He came back with a tale to tell
And a claim upon his heart.

Karina made him sit up straight,
He didn't have to ask.
For in her love and company
He's glowed and somewhat basked.

But now he's old and 21
He's getting on in years,
But we still love him heaps and heaps
When home we'll shout some beers!

Haha, magic! Thanks Dad!

Auchinblae

These are a couple of photos of the house Mum and Dad are building just outside Nelson, taken a few weeks ago. It's so impressive and has magic panoramic views!
It has been duly dubbed Auchinblae, which is the name of the house Granny (Dad's Mum) grew up in over in the UK, even though it lies in a Tuscan style subdivision called Beulah Ridge. Definately think Auchinblae sounds better than Beulah!

Hey everyone!
How's it going? Welcome to my thing!
I wish I could be better at keeping in contact with everyone, so I guess this is hopefully a good answer. I will try to keep you guys updated with all of the happenings in my life on here. I'm sure it won't be as interesting as the guy's blog thing from out of Mt Eden prison though ;-)
Right now I'm living in Auckland so that I can attend the University of Auckland. I'm studying psychology and sport science and have about two years left. This semester I'm taking papers in neuroscience, social psychology, exercise psychology and biomechanics of injury.
During the first part of this year I took some time off uni to go back to Denmark, where I was an exchange student in 2003, to work for 6 months. It was again a fantastic experience, jeg elsker Danmark! I got to experience so much once again and I'm so greatful to have had the opportunity to. Heaps of the things I got up to over there are on my girlfriend Karina's site danishalaskan.blogspot.com and there's heaps of photos on danishalaskan.myphotoalbum.com.
So now Karina has just moved to her sister and family's place in Battle Ground, WA near Portland, OR in the States to start uni after studying in DK for the past year, which is obviously very hard on both of us and I miss her incredibly. I really hope she can come out to NZ for Christmas!
And I also have most of my friends spread all over NZ and the world, plus I have most of my family in Nelson where I grew up, who I also miss heaps! I wish I could have everyone together but you know how it is...
My brother Matt is in Dunedin at Otago Uni and Mum and Dad are in the middle of building their dream home about 40 minutes out of the Nelson. We get holidays after this week so I'm flying back home for 2 weeks, I can't wait to see how it's progressed since last time. It should be ready just in time for Christmas :-D
I think that'll do for now...
So, to all of my friends and family who made it this far, thanks for reading! I'll try to update this pretty often and let you know what's going on with me. Let me know how you're all doing!!! Leave me a comment or something, I'd love to hear from you!
I'm thinking of you all, guys! Hav det rigtig rigtig godt allesammen!
Best Wishes / Kærlig hilsen
Andy
